Szkola biokrystalografii, Białystok

Szanowni Państwo,
 w imieniu Komitetu Organizacyjnego mam przyjemność ogłosić pierwszą edycję letniej Szkoły Biokrystalografii: „Biocrystallography for the high-throughput era”. Szkoła odbędzie się w Instytucie Chemii Uniwersytetu w Białymstoku oraz w hotelu 3Trio w dniach 1-5 lipca 2014 r. Szkoła skierowana jest do studentów, doktorów i młodych naukowców zaangażowanych w badania strukturalne białek. Celem Szkoły jest zapoznanie uczestników z nowoczesnymi i wysokoprzepustowymi technikami stosowanymi obecnie w krystalografii białek.

Workshop - Biocrystallography for the high-throughput era -July 1-5, 2014, Bialystok, Poland 

Dear Colleagues, 
I would like to announce a workshop on “Biocrystallography for the high-throughput era”. The workshop is addressed to students, postdocs and young researchers, who are engaged in structural studies of macromolecules. The aim is to familiarize the participants with modern methods of biocrystallography as applied to structural studies of proteins and their complexes, including bioinformatics approaches. The workshop will consist of hands-on practical sessions supported by lectures. All students are encourage to bring their own protein or diffraction data. Additionally, a poster session will be held during the workshop, and the participants are encourage to present their own research projects. Our workshop is associated with the International Year of Crystallography: http://www.iycr2014.org/events 
The workshop will take place in the Institute of Chemistry, University of Bialystok and 3Trio Hotel, starting on July 1st, 2014, and ending on July 5th. Application deadline: March 15, 2014 The topics will include: 

• bioinformatics approaches prior to crystallographic studies 
• high-throughput protein expression, purificationand crystallization
• efficient X-ray diffraction data collection and processing 
• phasing and structure determination 
• model refinement and validation
